the web is a terrible user experience

you know. surfing the web sucks. the screen is too big. there are pop ups everywhere. it's hard to read anything when links for other things are everywhere. and pictures that have no context with the story, like banner ads. and pop up ads that tell me i can make money working from home.

is someone going to fix this, or is this a new business idea?

I believe there are no fewer than 500 FireFox extensions that block some or all of these annoyances. But yes, this is a very true statement.

Oddly enough, the mobile web is still fairly clean for the most part, but you're starting to see ads creep onto mobile sites too.

I guess this is what happens when people try to make money while at the same time remembering what happened to kozmo.com.
